What’s National Sons Day?

National Sons Day is an international day of the boys created to honor all of the brave sons and appreciate all the challenges they’re going through. This is because most of the special days and events are organized either for the country or for daughters, ignoring the most important pillar of our society, sons. Greatness lies within every son, waiting to be nurtured and celebrated.

On National Sons Day, their loved ones spend their time with them, praise them, give them gifts, and motivate them for further future goals that they’re working on. Also, it’s like a father-son day, as on this particular day, no matter how strict the fathers are, they spend their quality time with their sons. But since when did people start celebrating National Son’s Day, and who came up with this idea? Let’s talk about that now.

History Of National Sons Day:

It was back in the 1990s when the thought of creating a specific day to celebrate sons came to people’s minds. The idea of National Sons Day came from Daughters Day, which was made to celebrate girls. Because everyone thought that even sons deserved to have a special day for them on which people celebrate them. In 2003, finally, the National Take Your Sons to Work Day was created.

This day was basically to expose the sons to work. However, in 2018, a mother of two, Jill Nico, thought that the National Take to Your Sons to Work wasn’t celebrating the importance of sons. She thought that there had to be a specific day solely made for honoring our sons. Then, she created National Sons Day, which was officially recognized on March 4, 2018.

Since National Daughters Day (September 25) is at the opposite end of the calendar year, Nico chose March 4 as National Sons Day. It was her husband’s birthday on March 4, so she chose that date.

When is Sons Day celebrated?

The National is celebrated on two different dates: March 4th and September 28th. It is unclear why there are two dates, but it may be so that people can celebrate when it is convenient for them.

When is National Sons Day 2023?

On September 28, we’ll celebrate National Sons Day 2023. This is one of two National Sons Day dates we celebrate a year, the other being March 4. As I’ve mentioned above as well, nobody knows why there are two dates for celebrating Sons Day.
